    I joined here a long time ago at the invite of @silvereyes, then joined some awful forum and forgot this place. Sorry.

    That place sucked so I'm back. Most of you seem a lot saner than those nutcases.

    Little about me...

    Government employee (shhh...State Dept flunkie), middle aged, liberal on social issues, sometimes not so liberal on other issues. Voted for Bernie.

    You brought up that you a State Department employee. State has thousands of employees in many different capacities. It is not unreasonable, since you have twice so far (of which I am aware) mentioned your employment with State, to ask in what capacity you serve.

    If he is going to use his position in the State Department as a crutch, it is relevant.

    Whether he answers is of no real importance, but it does help determine his level of credibility in future postings. It is no different than posting on military matters. Does a wheeled vehicle mechanic or personnel clerk have the same skill set and knowledge as an 18B? No. They are part of the same organization, but their training, experience and areas of expertise are very different.
