A lady called me today about a microwave for sale. She said she had no food or money, and she got sick from dented cans from the local food bank. I offered he some canned goods, and will give her the microwave!
There are thousands of victims from the floods this year. I know it sounds corny, but I have often prayed and what I needed suddenly appeared!

Doctor, didn't see this thread until now. I wish I could help but I'm not exactly rolling in the dough these days. Just a college student! Still, I hope things get better for you and remember to stay strong. I know you will come through this. Best of luck!

I filed a claim in October as soon as the leakage occured! If the roof was one day old, they would say it was too old! Tree limbs also hit the roof, and they denied that even! The $#@!S!

If you filed a claim as soon as the leakage occurred and your insurer refused to address the resultant damage or the damage caused by the trees, they are guilty of bad faith. Actions against insurers for a breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing will permit an insured to recover any damages (including mold) which are the proximate result of the insurer’s bad faith conduct. If mold damages are caused by an insurer’s unreasonable claims handling after a water loss, even if the insurance policy contains a mold exclusion, mold related damage can be recovered as tort damages in connection with a bad faith claim against the insurer.

Unfortunately, you will need to seek legal representation but hopefully, you can find an attorney that will take it on contingency.

The insurer rigged the thing from the beginning! They called out their own roofing guy to tell them what they wanted to hear!

Now a roomie ratted me out to the HCD(Housing and Community Developement) and sent an inspector out to make it look like I am to blame for damage to his furniture, mold, etc! I had filed an Unlawful Detainer suit against the roomie be cause he shorted me on rent the last 3 months and has been a total dicK. He ignored 7 30 day notices to vacate, and paid NO RENT for May, and is an illegal SQUATTER! Now he is counter suing me for his supposed damages to his "particle board" furniture. The inspector didn't want to hear anything I said about this matter, and he photographed every room in the place and is going to "ring me up" for silly violations!

If your tenant didn't have insurance, he's out of luck, but you have to retain an attorney to recover your own damages.

I'm not familiar with this firm but they seem to specialize in water damage claims: http://www.pillsburycoleman.com/Serv...d-Claims.shtml
