If you've ever seen them, barry, duane, gregg, and dickie would stand in a circle and trade these riffs.

    Forgot about that song, thanks.

SO much tragedy in that family - but i honestly think Gregg's solo bands were tighter since mid-late 80s.

Two of my friends, the Toler brothers, were in the band in the late 70s--they are from Dayton. But even they would tell you that they never successfully replaced Duane and Barry.

Imho, Duane was the best slide player who ever lived. Barry was the guy who held a band of junkies together.

Listen to the nasty slide riff that starts this one.

The Allman Brothers were one of the best. I saw them live in Seattle in 1972. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.

You didn't see Duane but you saw a great band. What Dickie did to salvage the brothers was nothing short of heroic.

These guys were the reason your show kicked ass:

Then it must have seen them in the spring of 1971 because Duane Allman was there when I saw them. It wasn't long after that concert he was killed.

I won the tickets in a contest at an assembly in my high school.

It was a long time ago.

I was in college and believe he died in September of 71 and Barry got killed in 72.

Couldn't agree more, even if it's a dobro!

If memory serves me correct, I think this was one of Duane's last recordings.
