    If one is prepared to take the claims of "transgender" people seriously, then there is little reason not to take this person seriously. At the very least, this person is only claiming to be a metaphorical hippo, whereas "transgender" people are literally claiming to be the opposite sex. So in a way, this guy is actually more reasonable and less likely to harm himself with unnecessary hormone "therapy" and ghastly surgeries.

    The difference to me is that transgender individuals identify as another human gender. Sort of like how homosexuals are attracted to the same human sex - compare that to someone who engages in bestiality. There's a difference.

    A male identifying as a female is fundamentally no different than a human identifying as a hippo. They are both at odds with biological reality.
