Thats 10% of their gross wealth, land, assets, etc. That 1 Trillion, is in the form of taxation on their PROFIT, which comes from gains from having all that GDP which generates additional wealth by a form of taxation on the middleclass, low income and poor, in the form of RENT, as well as LOANS, as well as INSURANCE (which the rich own).

Meanwhile, the 80% of rest of USA has to pay 2/3rds or 2 Trillion dollars of the yearly Federal budget, out of their share of 5 Trillion GDP, which is nearly HALF of their gross, and which is extremely hard, since they are already having to pay the Wealthy 20% share of income tax which the rich extract from them by RENT,LOANS, and INSURANCE fees, as well as the various other legislation the rich get Congress to enact, that makes small business have MORE regulation, while Corporations have LESS.

So really, stop the BULCRAP about how overtaxed the rich are, because it is insulting. Most of the $#@!s have figured out, like Romney, how to have ALL their income classified as Capital gains, so they pay only 15%, and where property taxes and other taxes are levied, they get that through: RENT, LOANS, and INSURANCE fees, since they are the OWNERS of the LAND, the BANKS, and the INSURANCE corporations.

Wasting your breath, O Grumpy One.

The likes of Romney are American heroes.

The pay less than 14% in tax (and, if they're corporates, pay 0% tax and actually get paid by the taxpayer with billions in subsidies), squirrel their dosh in the Carribean, and ship jobs offshore.

That is one part of the American dream. The other part is that everyone else picks up the slack.

    You math is funny.

The US spends over $1T more than it takes in tax revenue. Factor that out and your Wealthy 20% pay about the same as your poor 80%.

    Talk about bull-crap.

So true, and it doesn't look like any of these clowns will face the heavy tax burden of obamadoesn'tcare once the bill comes due in Janurary of 2013, and even worse come Janurary of 2014 when America will be mirroring the failed socialistic policies of Western Europe. Meanwhile I'll be preparing and stockpiling my arms for the upcoming battle against obama's martial law and totalitarian government.

If one group of people have 2/3rds of the total wealth, land, assets, etc, which constitute the GDP, and the other group of people have 1/3rd of the total wealth, land, assets, etc, which constitute the GDP, then when it comes to how to proportion the funding for the yearly Federal Budget, the group which enjoys 2/3rds of GDP should pay 2/3rds of the budget, while the group that has 1/3rd of GDP, pays 1/3rd of the Fed.Budget.

Simple logic really, which is probably why GOP/upside down elephants cannot grasp it.

What are you talking about? That so-called 1/3rd of the lower class (and often unemployed) people sharing the wealth don't pay any taxes at all, and as such don't fund 'ANYTHING' that makes up our GDP.

Oh yes they do, confused elephant. They pay RENT, and GAS taxes, and SALES taxes, and they do a lot of work that other people would not want to do, but which has to be done.

The portion you must be refering to, is the 1/6th of population, which is poor, or working poor. That includes disabled, elderly, and mentally unfit (like an elephant trying to F a donkey).

As much as we would like to not have to deal with this % of low productive persons, it is far cheaper to just pay them a $2000/year or so welfare check, rather than pay $60K/year to keep them in prisons.

And no, we cannot just kill them, or ship them off to some remote island of losers like New Zealand. (unless.._we could get off importing oil, and use the empty tankers as cargo ships).

the failed socialistic policies of Western Europe
They would be the policies that make many Western European and Australasian countries far in advance of the US in terms of education, and a battery of other social indicators.

All measured and reported by independent agencies...so don't bother with "alternative" stats from Fox News.
