Two-time anal sex ain't bad either.

Oral sex is still illegal in some states I believe, while $#@!ing goats is not illegal in other states.

Not that I partake in the latter, but my point is that to a degree of non-obscurity, morality is already legislated to a fundamental degree.

I've brought natural law into it. Natural law leaves the question of God open, as I clearly posted two pages ago and again just above.

You were the one raised command theory ethics, here:
...BS...there are very few people that have the resolve to make the right choice every time...very few...and then we need to argue "what is the right choice?"...you need someone standing behind people, sometimes close, sometimes far, to keep them honest when they need it...
Again, I ask, who might these someones be to govern us?

Societies fail because people fail. In most cases, it is the people who make up the government.

I'll leave it because it's nonsense. Mesopatamians and Aztecs did approve of sex with prepubescent children.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

I didn't bring god into it, that was actually you with your command theory of ethics.

    man's laws govern us
Which, those that arise naturally out of man's interaction with others, his social institutions and traditions--natural law, or posited law, what man thinks he can design and engineer?

Politics is not about what is but what should be.

Some of the people, usually an elite few, make up government. There is a massive country class, and a small ruling class. My point is that the more power is transferred from society to the state, the less free we are to choose, and if you can't choose, you can't act morally. Hey, why not, the government is in charge, I'm just going to live hedonistically. --That's what happened in the colonies under British rule, that changed dramatically, diametrically, people became moralistic given freedom (cf The Renegade History of the United States).

Naturally, as Franklin said, a republic, if you can keep it. Maine and I earlier looked at this and I agreed then, and now, it's an interactive feedback loop between the country class and the ruling class, it is up to us to exercise liberty responsibly. As Burke said, liberty must be limited in order to be possessed.

...so because you don't agree with something it didn't happen?...
