The war on drugs has been a massive waste of resources. A lessor nation would have collapsed over such a folly.

...no, it's common sence...BUT you do bring up an important thing I wanted to touch on with reguard to religion...in my opinion, I think religion has always been a good tool for one man to keep another man in line...most people don't like being told what to do by their peers (men) which is why religion/GOD is a brilliant idea to get people to do what's right (right depends on your angle)...GOD and/or man's laws are great for keeping honest people honest but like I hinted some people just refuse to fall in line unless you break their bones...

Your common sense is command driven, coercive, and thus not common.

You address this part of Madison's famous Federalist 51 statement: " If men were angels, no government would be necessary." But you ignore the rest: "If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary."

"We want a society where people are free to make choices, to make mistakes, to be generous and compassionate. This is what we mean by a moral society; not a society where the State is responsible for everything, and no one is responsible for the State."
~Margaret Thatcher, 1977 Mar 14 Speech to Zurich Economic Society ("The New Renaissance")

Kabuki, that's "sense." And I agree with your sentiment. But it is not government's legitimate role to tell consenting adults where to put their peckers.

But you feel the need to have some "divine" elites in charge.

Other than a temporary, if not fleeting feeling induced by canabis , I wonder how it is we got on the "devine".

There are now two states have said, yeah go for it, and 18 allowing for medical use.

Time to give up and go home, retrain the dogs to sniff for terrorists and light uo.
