The Official Amendment 64 Debate Thread

Amendment 64 (in loose terms) says that marijuana should be regulated in the same manner as alcohol. Now... I've seen a few posts on here from both sides, I want to know what the majority of you think.

    Here's my argument:
Simply put, America is a free nation, we're supposed to be as free as possible. I am a pot smoker, why am I not allowed to freely purchase and consume pot for my own recreational use? I believe that this is kind of opposite most conservative viewpoints (but, I don't know why) except the more libertarian view that government should $#@! out of our lives forever.

    What do you think?

Its origin has been embedded in this nationís consciousness since the Nat Turner revolt; a pathological fear that the oppressed will one day rise up and inflict vengeance upon the oppressor.

Fiscal conservatives must be on something so hopefully you have easier access to it in the future. You're going to need it.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Legalizing pot would provide a wonderful new opportunity for taxation to the left and deprive the narcos of nearly 70 percent of their revenues.

I don't smoke pot but I see no reason why this stupid, unsuccessful, government-growing "war on drugs" needs to go on.

It should be legal but as it isn't by federal law, I'm not sure the states won't be getting a visit from the feds when they start selling it openly.
