    The Stanley Cup

Since I spent about 33 years living in Nashville--and, for the past 30 years, have lived only about 30 or 35 miles southeast of there, in Murfreesboro--I naturally am pulling for the Nashville Predators in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Of course, they lost rather badly Thursday night (6-0).

My guess is that the Predators will win game 6--not because I am some sort of cheerleader, but because the home team has won every game in the Finals so far. (The home team actually has an enormous, 24-6 advantage in goals scored.)

Moreover, every time a team has lost by six or more goals in the playoffs this year (it has happened three times), it has won the following game.

But that would only push it to a seventh game.

And for the same reason that I would favor the Predators in Game 6, I would favor the Penguins in Game 7.

    Thoughts?

the predators goalie can't play in pittsburgh; his gaa is over 5 there.

i think nashville wins 6 and loses 7 unless he really turns it around, unfortunately

Trying to get back into Hockey, I like the new style . We watched Game 5 which the Predators also won.
But I'm an old fashion pre recent expansion guy and really think cities where you can never skste outdoors ( naturally ) shouldn't even have hockey teams.
I did that the fights have been curtailed but I see that old "let me at em, I'll gonna deck him" "Wait where's the ref to break this up ?" Show still wows the crowd.

These guys tend to have long memories.

In Game 5, one Predator and one Penguin became entangled; but that was apparently not the source of a fight's breaking out. The announcer mentioned that the Predator had hit the Penguin earlier (apparently with a cheap shot), and the Penguin was not about to let it pass, unanswered.

The one I saw had to do with an illegal hit in the crease ( which I see refs still ignore) but the looked they they were waiting to be briken up. Do offsetting majors cause 4 on 4 these days If not I think they should

The one thing I will give Nashville credit for is, their fans are rabid. Big crowd, big support. Ottawa couldn't even sell out the $#@!ing semi-finals.

I'm sick of the Nashville "we love music" coverage. Yeah, we get it.

I hated the same $#@! in Pittsburgh. "The confluence of rivers" and "Primanti sandwiches" which are $#@!ing over-rated. Potatoes don't belong on sandwiches, thanks, keep it.

I take back my kudo's of Nashville's fan.

Classless, booing the win. Totally classless, I don't ever remember seeing this. Even when Bettman came out and congratulated the fans they booed him.

They're not hockey fans, they're party fans, nothing more.
