The Democrats did not win the election.

It can be said, of course, the Republicans lost it. And that trajectory to defeat began in the leadership run. In the end they settled for a guy that stands for everything and nothing; a hard core fiscal conservative with a liberal record as governor who morphed into an average white guy promoting much the same thing as Obama but at least more specific.

The train wreck started when Herman Cain was driven off the field, according to some by a sex scandal financed by the Romney camp.
So, like 2004 the conservatives of American had to settle for a candidate not so much weak as fatigued by his own record.

But what does it say after all the billions spent, the carbon emissions exhausted into the atmosphere from jetting hither and yon, that the country is in exactly the same place it was when this whole nightmare began? For one thing, it says Obama is weak, perhaps even weaker than McCain and Romney, only blessed with more charisma and star power. Based on the popular vote, which ever version you pick between now and when it’s finally finalized, the difference isn’t really much more, if anything at all, than what an incumbent should have.
So what did the Democrats win? They get to have “their” guy in the White House another four years. That’s it.

While, as he should, Obama is pledging to “work with both sides of the aisle” we all know that isn’t going to happen. He’s just not the kind of guy to compromise as has been demonstrated the last two years. He will try to raise taxes, and the Republican House will do everything in its power to block him, which, based on the last two years practically guarantees another two years, at least, of grid lock, finger pointing, name calling and the signature aspect of the Obama administration, blaming the “other guy”.

The true loser in election 2012? The American people who will one day awaken to the fact their debt level is greater than that of Greece, that even if Obama is successful in increasing taxes on the one per cent, it will mean nothing more than those funds paying off some of the interest on the national debt; that is if, and it’s a big if, Obama doesn’t go on another spending spree.
And I for one am not going to bet against him doing so.

    In a nutshell, yes.

Obama is pledging to “work with both sides of the aisle” we all know that isn’t going to happen.
That was his rhetoric last time and not his record. He is extremely divisive, and ran a divisive campaign.

Well quite. Sometimes that British expression says everything that needs saying as a reply. But as I am a verbose fellow I'll say more anyway. Romney did all he could do. He had to run as a conservative during the primaries to get the nomination although everyone aware of his background knew that he was only conservative in fiscal and perhaps in family matters. Then he had to flip that and come across as Obama lite in the first presidential debate in order to appeal to the middle of the road voter. Obama did precisely the leftwing equivalent in 2008 after his run against Hillary but because he was the leftwing media fad of the year he got a free press pass for having done so.

But Romney is said and done just as Hillary Clinton is -- I for one do not expect her to run in 2016 because she will be [as she well knows] too old for age-bigoted leftwingers to tolerate as the first woman president. As for Obama, a three million national vote margin is not a mandate and he is a lame duck president from the second term starting blocks. Stalemate for the most part.

Obama will need the Senate majority leader to drop the political bomb on the filibuster option in order to move Democrat only bills through the Senate . . . which is why the Republicans have been filibustering anyway as all of their input is always rejected out of hand; something that the leftwing dominated media outlets will not admit to the public. We can expect this to happen in the near future. That will free up Obama for his socialistic programs but also so damage the Senate that when Republicans do eventually regain control they will pretty much ram a red-hot poker up the behind of the Democratic Party leadership. But that will be at least four years from now.

Anyway the permanent and massive lower middle class tax hike known as Obama Care will begin in 2014 along with several other goodies courtesy of the Democratic Party that will make it a certainty that if the Republicans run anyone even remotely presentable in 2016 then he, she, or it will get elected. Those very same gormless swing voters and youths and Hispanics who made it possible for Obama to be re-anointed will be spitting on his name by then . . . but it will be too late; semi-permanent damage will have been done to the economy and to their future prospects.

What pro-socialist citizens never grasp until it's too late is that socialism prevents THEM from ever getting up and out of their current circumstances. No chance at the middle or upper middle class brass ring for them . . . ever.

He may be weak in many ways. But under the radar, he's a busy bee.
The ugly monster he's created is about to rear it's fetid head.

The point is that he isn't as triumphant as what's being painted. I have said from the get go that Romney was a weak candidate with clay feet, made too many gaffes and STILL almost knocked him off.

Despite all that money, all that travel, all the hoopla, speeches and bull$#@!, we are pretty much where we were two years ago.

So Obama hasn't really "won" anything.
