Your hint seems to be contrary to reality. It is during the committee hearings that it has been unearthed that those "investigative journalists" were telling untruths.

Also, is Robert Mueller a republican?

It will go on through 2018 and then 2020. That is the point.

“We are far closer to the beginning of the investigation than we are to the end," House Representative Adam Schiff saidduring an appearance on ABC News’ This Week Sunday. Schiff is the ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee and is helping to lead that branch of the Russia investigation.
Schiff said he thinks that “there is evidence” of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, but said he “can't go into the particulars of our closed investigation.”
When pressed, Schiff said that he’s “not prepared to say that there's proof you could take to a jury” but “that there is enough that we ought to be investigating.”
British intelligence agencies first picked up contact between Trump’s campaign members and associates and Russian intelligence operatives in 2015. Over a period of six months until summer 2016 western agencies — including those from Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia— shared evidence of contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians with U.S. authorities, a number of sources with knowledge of the intercepts told The Guardian.

You're way too fixated on this Democrat Republican us vs them thinking. They play ball for the same team when it matters most.

Have you seen me hawking Jon Ossoff's campaign?

I care about the truth a lot more than I do about the Democrats. I'm just not naive about the seriousness of one party "investigating" its own.

Except Trump was never one of the party's own. He was seen as an outsider by the establishment in both parties.

Trump has been all over the map politically in the course of his life. I can remember him once coming off to me as an almost-rational guy (never completely there, but close for a billionaire) who supported things like Medicare for all and women's reproductive rights and so on. But that was then and this is now. Since the election of our first black president, Trump has, like far too many more ordinary people of otherwise progressive persuasion, let racism push him far to the right and into the Republican camp; indeed to the right of where most Republicans were before his campaign, frankly. Today he's a card-carrying, "alt-right" Republican who has remade that party in his image to a substantial degree, and the Republicans see him as their man. Every Republican on this forum supports him, probably to the point of death if it came to it. For that very reason, the Congressional Republicans (the vast majority anyway) will do anything to save his ass.
