Californians approve massive tax hike on the wealthy

California Gov. Jerry Brown wants to raise taxes on the rich to pay for education

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Californiansapproved a measure Tuesday that raises taxes on the wealthy and hikes the state sales tax. It is expected to bring in $6 billion a year, on average, over five years.
Proposition 30, which Governor Jerry Brown has lobbied heavily for, captured 54% of the vote. Its approval prevents massive budget cuts to the state's public schools and universities.

That's great news! More wealthy people will come to the rest of our states from California.

Yeah, but the really funny part will be when those brain-dead actresses who backed Obama and the liberal agenda realize...hey, they're taxing us!

Well they have many illegals that will no longer be illegal. Someone has to pay for their education. Forget real Americans.

It's just so funny. These rich people will move out of CA and move into states like Nevada and Arizona and then change the political demographics to a blue state! The same kind of state they left!

Nevada was a red state when we moved there in '89. Not anymore. And I'm sure I'll see the same kind of changes in Arizona now that I live here.

I'm beginning to think that the safest and freest state left is Texas. There's no state income tax there either. It's looking more and more appealing to us all the time.

Maryland tried this and collected less money, not more. They quietly let it die but the damage was done as the people moved somewhere else.

All of this is great for the low tax states like Texas.
