The Creation Museum and the Ark.

What do people here think about the Creation Musem in Petersburg, Kentucky?

Just a cool fantasy theme park, or something more important?

It appears to be a tribute to the need of some folks to shut their eyes to the truth - in this case, everything from geology to paleontology to physics - in order to maintain a primary-school level understanding of a religious faith.
Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.” - Robert E. Howard

"Only a rank degenerate would drive 1,500 miles across Texas and not eat a chicken fried steak." - Larry McMurtry

I don't really get in a twist about what other people believe.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Honesty I think it's pretty damn silly. It does have a frightening aspect though. It terrifies me how many people take it seriously.

Me neither, but I was interested in what people think of it as a museum that people take kids to. Kids (and at 16 I don't include myself) may find that sort of thing pretty interesting - dinosaurs together with people and all that stuff - and if they are very little, might they not believe it is fact? And from what I have read, the museum stresses that these are all facts.

Apart from anything else - I read that about $18 million was contributed by the government. What's that about?

William, there are grown men on this forum who think Trump is a Russian puppet and that American cops are murdering blacks with reckless abandon. We have bigger fish to fry, son.

Moreover, progressives are champions of a scientific (i.e. evolutionary) view of life until it challenges their dogma. Then evolutionary logic becomes "pseudoscience".

As for the government, who cares? State governments help fund museums all the time.

Pretty embarrassing but fake stuff is kinda our thing. Always has been. Hell theirs even a market for "special" holy water if you can afford it (pricey).

Good news is religion is dying out pretty quickly. Albeit a bit late.
