Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about making a ruling without factoring in all the evidence. I know what the law says but I've always been one that believed someone previous actions should be considered.

I accept the temporary ruling by the SCOTUS but if I were advising the President I would probably tell him to get a move on developing those "extreme" vetting procedures before the fall. I have a feeling that SCOTUS is giving him time before they yank it in the fall. Of course I could be completely misreading the situation.

They should be starting that process this week. If they do it they will be done before oral arguments. The case may be moot.

To your first point, under statutory construction you look to the 4 corners of the document unless there is ambiguity.

Politicians say a lot during campaigns. And in private. Courts try to avoid the politics of these things. That is why we have a legislature.

I have heard rumblings that they should move on from the Russian quagmire. Given it starts to look at Loretta Lynch, given it starts to look at Obama's inaction concerning Russian meddling, the latest news leaking out of these investigations has been devastating to Democrats. Add to that this travel ban decision, the Handel victory on Georgia, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in June for Republicans.

I said a long time ago that the investigation into Trump/Russia would backfire on the democrats, and it looks like it is. Obama was a weak, inept, President:several cases in point was his instructing the parents of Otto to lay low and trading 5 terrorists for Bergdhal.

I wonder what else will come to light about the Obama administration in the coming months?

You realize of course the ban is temporary, not a permanent 'travel ban'.....yes?

Like I said, you should have been paying attention, the issue will be ultimately decided by SCOTUS in September.
