Honestly Ransom - I didn't know what they would do but I do think the ruling they've made is a fair one.

I accept the temporary ruling by the SCOTUS but if I were advising the President I would probably tell him to get a move on developing those "extreme" vetting procedures before the fall. I have a feeling that SCOTUS is giving him time before they yank it in the fall. Of course I could be completely misreading the situation.
They should be starting that process this week. If they do it they will be done before oral arguments. The case may be moot.

To your first point, under statutory construction you look to the 4 corners of the document unless there is ambiguity.

Politicians say a lot during campaigns. And in private. Courts try to avoid the politics of these things. That is why we have a legislature.

Add to that this travel ban decision, the Handel victory on Georgia, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in June for Republicans.
I said a long time ago that the investigation into Trump/Russia would backfire on the democrats, and it looks like it is. Obama was a weak, inept, President:several cases in point was his instructing the parents of Otto to lay low and trading 5 terrorists for Bergdhal.

I wonder what else will come to light about the Obama administration in the coming months?

I appreciate your honesty and I'm not insulted. Hopefully more will realize that the only winners are the politicians when they foster this divide.

Like I said, you should have been paying attention, the issue will be ultimately decided by SCOTUS in September.
