    I just ate that?

I just ate some gross "beef stew." It came out of a pouch. It looked like baby poop.

Unless this is a post-apocalyptic world or you are living on a space station, why would you even try stew in a pouch? Stew in a can is horrid.

I'm a college student, money is scarce, and it came from the food shelf.

Short of MRE style emergency rations, which are usually more expensive than "real" food, where did you even get stew in a pouch?

Also, I'm pretty sure many of us have eaten worse, if you bought it off a shelf here in the United states.

Learn to cook, it's cheaper and cathartic. I used to have to choose between potatoes or rice depending which would last the longest. Once cooked chili I made way too spicy hot but had to eat it anyway due to lack of funds.

Such a thing is also expensive.

I get quarts of beef/veg soup at Bob Evans for $5. It's great and lasts at least 2 servings.
Try Progresso pot roast soup(add tobasco)!
