Question OHSC - Putative Father Seeks to undo adoption arguing he didn't abandon the mother.

“Are you asking this court, therefore, to give the mother’s vote in this family matter more weight?” -- Justice O’Neill, to Counsel for the Biological Mother
“Are you saying financial support should never be a consideration under the willful abandonment of the mother?” -- Chief Justice O’Connor, to counsel for the Putative Father

On June 21, 2017, the Supreme Court of Ohio heard oral argument in the case of In the Matter of: The Adoption of .L.H., 2107-0173. At issue in this case is whether the putative father willfully
abandoned the mother of the child so that his consent to the adoption of the child is unnecessary.

How should this one come out?

Tough one but it appears to me the court stated that the mother didnt demonstrate enough evidence that the father abandoned her and the child.

I do have a loathing for men who refuse to take care of their children and just stick the mother with the entire burden. I also know through first hand experience that men at times are lied on and accused of things they never did. So I believe there has to be definite proof of abandonment. If thats the case as far as my non legal mind is concerned he has nothing to say. He made his statement when he took off.

Obviously im not an attorney and I view things unlegally <if thats a word>
