The Compromise Thread

Here are the compromises I have proposed. I have seen conservatives and republicans who are willing to go along, but no democrats. Let me know if you would agree with any of these, or propose your own.

1) Before we raise the debt limit, we must pass a Balanced Budget Amendment.
2) We agree to raise taxes on the rich if you agree to repeal the Affordable Care Act.
3) We agree to comprehensive immigration reform including amnesty for all non-felons effective only after we have secured our borders and done a complete census of all illegal aliens followed by a moratorium on legal immigration for 10 years.
4) A Same Sex Marriage/Right to Life Amendment to the US Constitution (with an exemption clause for religious institutions).
5) A secure and standard voter registration and identification system for national elections. No open primaries. Rotate state primary schedules.

In exchange for what? This is not a republican democrat issue. It is a libertarian issue.

It's a freedom issue. 420 is a victimless crime and our government wastes valuable money criminalizing it.

I vote we let them do whatever they want for the next few years. It will be like France, which is cratering at warp speed.

It is time for the Obama voters, especially the dumb young and dumber women, to have a direct experience of the consequences of their voting. It would be a lesson that would be remembered a long time.

We gotta throw out Obamacare. Everyone from both sides admits it was passed without anyone REALLY reading it and understanding all the ramifications and how they would be applied to Average Joe American. I would like to see a large administrative/medical task force (comprised of Republicans, Democrats, and Libertarians) take the entire program, analyze it down to the 9th degree (which would probably take quite some time), then make recommendations for modifications that BOTH sides can agree on.

With almost 72 companies laying off thousands of employees in as many hours, damn right something needs to take place and the OP started a good list. But remember Reid said "we won't be pushed around" meaning they will block everything we want and pass everything they want. Same old game only this time the entire nation goes down the tubes.

Obamacare is the biggie...get it gone and businesses will breather easier again.

I thought that way as well yesterday, but I have cooled down. It's not the tactic we need. We need to do what Gingrich did...get a bulldog of a special prosecutor to go after Obama and have him removed from office. The man is a danger to every living American...even those who adore him.
