Old guard certainly can't be happy. Unfortunately, it may mean Francis is replaced by a hardcore conservative Pope when the time comes.

But isn't the Pope being conservative with this directive, resisting change?

Nah, not really. Traditional, sure. The very small amount of gluten is not going to have much impact on people who are actually gluten intolerant (too many people claim to be, but aren't). People with the intolerance probably consume more gluten by accident via contaminated foods daily than they would with the wafer.

That's in really poor taste. You realize that the rate of incidents of religious sexual abuse was no more or no less in the RCC than in other faiths, right?

Because he is the "HOLY SEE" of the catholic church, not the "HOLY DEMOCRAT" there are those of all political persuasions within the catholic church and he has caused more divisiveness than any other in my lifetime. All Popes had opinions on world events within the scope of RELIGION and a "religious interpretation" not a liberal or conservative interpretation, this pope is mostly all political and very little religion.

So, you'd have the same criticism if he agreed with you on everything?

did the other faiths keep moving the pervs around so they'd have a fresh batch of victims?

Gluten or no they will always taste like packing peanuts to me. Catholics, go ahead and bite into one of those cellulose things and compare it to the taste of a host. I wish they gave Ritz crackers instead. I'd go to mass more often.
