Government officials in charge of collecting royalties from oil companies accepted ski holidays and other gifts from the firms they were meant to be regulating, as well as using cocaine and having sex with industry executives, according to an official report released yesterday.
The inspector general's investigation found a "culture of substance abuse and promiscuity" operating at the mineral management service (MMS), the government agency charged with regulating oil companies.
The investigation focused on the royalties-in-kind programme which allows oil companies to pay royalties to the federal government in oil and gas rather than cash. It is one of the government's biggest sources of revenue outside of taxes, bringing in $10bn (£5.7bn) a year.

You don't get to vote for the party that supported, and legislated government forced vaginal probes, and then claim to oppose Obama because he represents "increased government control, and power".

Well the media is a fickle creature. Yes it stayed loyal to Obama long enough to see to his re-election but he comes into his second term not as some political rock star but as seriously damaged political goods and all it will take at this point is a few more false steps and then segments of them will begin turning against the man. I've seen it happen to golden politicians in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to Obama as well.

Uh...not sure what this has to do with the Petraeus resignation, but...okay?

As I said in the other thread bout this, I actually respect the General for being honest about why he was leaving, instead of trotting out the tired, trite "...send time with my family" bull$#@!.

There is a fairly broad line between a conspiracy theory and the questioning of event as proscribed by an administration not exactly known for openness and transparency. A cornerstone of a conspiracy is a 'theory'; a specific alternative to the one painted.

The introduction of the word is a diversion, since no alternate theories are being proscribed, only that the administration's version of evewnts was, and is a complete farce, an invention of Bozo the Clown thinking and now looks, really, really lame.

And then, gee, kind of like Watergatem those in the know seem to bot be able testify and, aw shucks, I forgot the exact time line, and like that...

No conspiracy friend, just business as usual

They're just not going to give up blaming Bush. It's like the last 4 years never happened for some of these people. So, an adulterous affair in 2012 is Bush's fault too.
