Go to work as a greenskeeper with no experience other than mowing your lawn and spreading weed and feed a couple of times a year. See how that works out for you.

I did that once at a golf course in Tampa, I should stuck with it, I would probably be the foreman.

I think it would be fun to spend a summer working on a greens crew if free golf was one of the perks of the job.

During ‘Made in America Week,’ President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club applies to hire 70 foreign workers

President Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida has asked permission to hire 70 foreign workers this fall, attesting — in the middle of the White House's “Made in America Week” — that it cannot find qualified Americans to serve as cooks, waiters and housekeepers.

Those requests were made to the Department of Labor in recent days and posted online Thursday.

The for-profit club, where Trump spent numerous weekends this spring, asked permission to hire 15 housekeepers, 20 cooks and 35 waiters.

In addition, Trump's golf club in nearby Jupiter, Fla. asked permission to hire six foreign workers as cooks.

The applications to the Department of Labor are a first step in the process of applying for H-2B visas, which would allow the clubs to bring in foreigners for temporary work between October and next May.

While I like some of what Trump is doing I do hate hypocrisy

Speaking of golf, I went to play a round with some friends this morning. It's been a while since I played a round of golf. Things have changed. There used to be courtesy displayed on a golf course.

This morning I noticed that everyone plays like they are on TV in a PGA tour event. We hot behind a foursome who played slower than any group I've ever seen. Each one took at least five minutes of warm up swings on the tee. Then they analyzed every shot. Once they got on the green, they slowed down even more. They all studied their putt from every angle. Groups were piling up.

Finally I approached these guys and politely asked them to let us play through. This is pretty much a standard practice when a group is playing slowly. They acted as if I asked them if I could have sex with their wife.

Finally a course marshal approached us and tried to get the slow group to allow others to play through. The marshal almost got into a fist fight with one of the clowns and finally had to tell them that if they continued to clog up the course and threaten people he would have no choice but to kick them off the course.

Then it happened. One of the idiots in the slow group claimed to be a lawyer in a high speed Seattle law firm and said that he would sue the course out of existence if that happened. That's when I stuck a tee in the ground, teed off and my buddies followed suit. We basically forced our way through them while they were fussing with the marshal. This was on the fourth hole and we were playing fairly fast, so we didn't see them again during the round. Another group actually got past them too.

After a couple of beers in the clubhouse at the conclusion of our round, the group of idiots made their way in. The F. Lee Baily wannabe asked our names so he could persue something. I just looked at the guy and said "what the $#@! is wrong with you, dropped on your head as a child"? He he thought that was slanderous.

He followed me to my truck from a safe distance and wrote down my license plate number as I drove out. Too funny. I hope I hear something from the idiot.

Chinch bugs, manganese.....most people don't know what that is. You gotta know that stuff if you want to be the head greenskeeper.
