10 more companies lay off employees, cut hours, or cancel new locations post election

10 more companies lay off employees, cut hours, or cancel new locations post election due to Obama Care.

We've all heard the old adage, “All publicity is good publicity.” However, recent events have taken bad public relations to a whole other level. Applebee's and Papa John’s restaurants threatened to freeze and reduce worker's hours in response to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). These are not the only two restaurants coming out publicly, Darden Restaurants is now joining the mix.

It is unclear if these two high-powered CEOs and major restaurant chains have made their statements public to either express a financial fear or tarnish the reputation of Obamacare. However, at this point the law is the law. The election is over, and if there is a political motive, this is not going to change anything but create hardships on their employees. John Arensmeyer, CEO and founder of Small Business Majority, a national small business advocacy organization stated most small businesses with 50 or more full-time employees offer health insurance already.

These join 40 other companies and counting that have made it publicly known they are laying off employees since Obama's reelection. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/how-...a-second-term/

They need to realize when people are not making decent hours they won't be spending money and the economy is going to get worse not better. This Christmas is going to be hard on a lot of families. The few Pharmaceutical plants here are already talking about layoffs. I expect it to be announced any day now.

Odd that they're mostly or all restaurants. I wonder if anyone knows what that means.

I do note that they are all somewhat medium sized companies, not big ones by any stretch.

    That means something also.

It is very easy for restaurants to do part time employment.
