I'm a butter junkie. Real creamery butter, not that fake God-knows-what's-in-it margarine or "spread" crap. Some mass-market large chain butters taste just like lard....and the last thing I want on my fresh steamed vegetables is melted lard. I pay extra and buy imported Irish or Danish butter....it's difficult to find decent butter that tastes like butter in my neck of the woods, for some reason.

I like my Icelandic salted butter. The Irish stuff is good too.

For a cattle country that's odd.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

The difference is that most butter in America is made from corn-fed cows and most butter in Europe is made from grass-fed cows. The difference in the butter is evident....grass-fed cow butter is richer, healthier, a deeper yellow and MUCH more flavorful.

You must be talking about Smjor butter. I've always wanted to try it; I know Whole Foods has it but I don't have one here, and haven't found any stores locally that carry it. I would also like to try Anchor butter from New Zealand. All I can get here that's halfway decent is Kerrygold (or Lurpak if I want to go all the way to Cincinnati).

Hmmm...I don't often use butter (Mister D is an olive oil man) but I will have to try it. I only use butter for eggs.

I think Whole Foods carries it. I picked mine up from the source.

How about mashed potatoes? With garlic?
