I think this discounts the complex and inclusive primary process, GA. Many interests come to the table during primary season, many teeth are cut for example the GOParty following the election of Obama on 2008. A more grass roots movement began, the Tea Party process if you will that had less to do party politics and more to do with common street issues.
The problem as I see it in breaking party lines is the Europe effect. The party runoffs they go through and you end up with a President or Prime Minister who garners 28% of the vote.
We've been effective choosing a leader, electing a President who is also the head of his party. I don't see fixing what's not broken, let's concentrate on how legislators are elected now, redraw some of these bug splat districts where we end up with a broom riding Maxine Waters for example.

Because the U.S. form of Democracy is corrupt to the core.

Actually, the Constitution itself was a breech of what the Colonists accomplished in their war with England.
When money lenders started using the Massachusetts courts to rob the farmers, the farmers rose and regulated their public servants & stopped the money lenders' wrongful ways.
However, some other so called patriots in other states, raised an army to invade Massachusetts and shot down the American Men of Massachusetts who were regulating their public servants.
After this the commercial interests got the Constitution passed to make sure the American Men never regulated their public servants again, except through namby pamby voting for 2 evils, until the Men of the Southern states took action to regulate their public servants.
Once again, the Americans who sought to regulate the politicians etc. were betrayed and shot down.
Since Karl Marx & Lincoln pulled off their Communist revolution by a very un-Civil war, America has been a Communist country where all 10 Planks of the Communist Manifesto are in place locally, State wide, nationally & internationally.
This is why the USA could not "fight" Communism, because it was instead promoting Communism.....only we call it Capitalism.
We yap about "human rights" etc. and spend 20 trillion to destroy millions of lives.
We have no rights, only Privileges revocable at officialdom's pleasure.
"Those who produce should have, but we know that those who produce the most — that is, those who work hardest, and at the most difficult and most menial tasks, have the least."
- Eugene V. Debs (1855-1926), five-time Socialist Party candidate for U.S. President
I don't believe that we are necessarily born with inate morality . This believe is based upon what whole societies can be raised to do and be OK with. Such as slavery, beating your wife, human sacrifices etc.
However, I do believe that most westerners have some core similarities in what they consider "moral" and that for the vast majority of us harming another is amoral unless in self defense . Therefore I expect our nation to reflect our values and believe that in a perfect world rather than being "above the law" our leaders should lead largely by example.
I'd like to hear more of your thoughts on an iherent morality though , because I think it should be there . I just can't square it with the facts of history and current events.
