Apparently, if you believe Trump is the victim of a coup attempt, then you're a very serious and thoughtful person. But if you believe the same thing happened to JFK, for almost exactly the same reasons, then somehow you're a "kook" who is going off topic. I guess the concept of history repeating itself is lost on some.

JFK and Trump both had notions of a detente with Russia. Detente with Russia would jeopardize billions and billions of dollars of spending on the military and the intelligence agencies. Is it really so hard to believe that the powerful people who profit from that arrangement would use any means at their disposal to sustain it? Or are we just supposed to continue believing in US mythology about the nobility of government actors?

I haven't seen any evidence of a JFK / CIA conspiracy. I've talked to a member of the Warren Commission and read most popular books on this subject. Mob-related? Yes. CIA? I haven't connected those dots.

The subject appears to be a CIA coup against a sitting president. In my humble opinion, the same thing happened to JFK. In other words, what we're witnessing here is generally referred to as a pattern. Presidents are elected under nominally democratic circumstances only to be subject to the undue influence of an entrenched deep state who, by the way, has decades of experience subverting and overthrowing foreign governments. Is it any surprise to learn that they've been using such techniques on the US government? Do you think ignoring the past and the obvious patterns it evinces will help Trump now or in the future?

I suppose, if one wants to look across the ages one can find any number of patterns. What has it been, sixty years?

I would word it differently. If you believe there is a coup attempt against a current President involving the top tiers of the DNI, NSA, CIA, DOJ, FBI and some members of the Five Eyes group you are a serious and thoughtful person. If you believe the CIA murdered an American President sixty years ago then you likely are also interested in the Lincoln assassination.

The FBI, a wholly corrupt criminal enterprise ran another informant to attempt to create the impression of Russia-Trump collusion in May 2016.

The man, who called himself Henry Greenberg, offered damaging information about Hillary Clinton, Trump’s presumptive Democratic opponent in the upcoming presidential election, according to Stone, who spoke about the previously unreported incident in interviews with The Washington Post. Greenberg, who did not reveal the information he claimed to possess, wanted Trump to pay $2 million for the political dirt, Stone said.
“You don’t understand Donald Trump,” Stone recalled saying before rejecting the offer at a restaurant in the Russian-expat magnet of Sunny Isles, Fla. “He doesn’t pay for anything.”

In a separate interview, Stone said, “I didn’t realize it was an FBI sting operation at the time, but it sure looks like one now.”

Greenberg turned out to be a Russian being run by the FBI.


Stone and Caputo reportedly claim the meeting was a setup by US law enforcement, as Greenberg has previously said in immigration documents that he worked as an FBI informant but stopped in 2013. Greenberg, who also goes by the name Henry Oknyansky, denied to the Post he was working on behalf of the FBI in the meeting.

The meeting has come under scrutiny as part of the special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 US presidential campaign, and whether the Trump campaign coordinated with the Kremlin.

Note the setup. An FBI informant, a Russian working for the FBI approaches the Trump campaign and is rebuffed in a meeting that may have lasted a couple of minutes. But Mueller and his henchmen know about the meeting and know where to find corroboration that it took place.
