KKK Leads Torch-Bearing Protesters Against Removal of Robert E Lee Statue

I say: take them all down. Who erects statues for the losers of any war?

    Your thoughts?

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...V2SyehxBGCsoYA

A torch-wielding mob chanting racist slogans descended on a Charlottesville, Virginia, park Saturday evening, to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue.
Chanting "All White Lives Matter," and "No More Brother Wars," the crowd, which said they were protecting their "white heritage" from the Charlottesville City Council’s decision to remove a statue in the Virginia town’s park.
They also chanted "You will not replace us" and "Russia is our friend." Dozens of protesters also brought bamboo tiki torches to a second rally once it became dark out.

Sounds like the people have spoken and want to keep a historical monument.

Why are you so against democracy and the will of the people?

I do not like white supremist crap just as much as I dont like BLM crap

Having said that this attack on everything representative white is causing more of a racial rift than anything else.

The civil war is HISTORY, Slavery is HISTORY, we learn from history we dont erase it and we certainly shouldnt change it for convenience.

I am against the erasure of our history -- the Nazis did that. I question whether the 'tear it down' wave is coming from elitist circles or the people living in those areas. I am sensitive to what those statues can represent. Perhaps, the local politicians or community people can decide to either remove them to a museum or put a marker indicating what they were about and why they are divisive. Remember, when you forget history you are condemned to repeat it.

I abhore political correctness but I also abhor racism and white supremacists. I do support the right to March like I supported the Nazi'sright to march in Skokie Illinois and BLM's right to march at Kent State.

You cant erase history even when you try to hide it. The statues coming down have nothing to do with the local residents and everything to do with Liberal Elites. Its causing more divisiveness than not. Im not a southerner I have no skin in the game, the statues do not represent to me what they represent to the south.

Museums are precisely the destination for most of these relics from a dark chapter which is a good thing - Don't believe any of them are being destroyed.
