The destruction of the Constitution is not symbolic.
Hey, we do not care if the rich guys got extra toys. Its all the extra money just sitting around in off shore accounts, not really being used which is kind of annoying. More of that money could be cycled through the economy, which, after it does, will work its way back to where it came from anyway.

And where the Constitutional amendments are violated, I am the first Democrat to be crying foul, like I did when Clinton admin let the gun control fanatics try to end run the 2nd amendment. Like I did, when Bush/Cheney said a preemptive strike against another country which had not attacked USA, was legit. Like I did when Obama signed NDAA 2012, and still not happy about that. Like I did when Supreme Court nominee (Alito) at the time, was all in favor of the "unitary executive" interpretation, which I was opposed to, and now the Conservatives see why its not such a good idea.

So the USA is really not quite so far apart on a lot of issues as the political juxtapositioning game that the media use to get ratings implies.

Besides that, every 2 years, things can be brought to an abrupt halt, and there is always the bribing of Congress that continues, so really, is it not kind of a joke to be thinking that a US President is anything more than just a figurehead?

WHY is the money being sent offshore, dawg?

Because the owners of it can do better elsewhere. And why is that?

Because the government you love is an enterprise and job killer.

People can and do vote with their feet and have done so through history. So can money. A lot of people take your class warfare rhetoric seriously, as they should.

Never, in my lifetime has there been a secession movement of this magnitude. You're doing something wrong and breaking up the country. Maybe it isn't just the Republicans that need to do some wising up. Which they do, we can agree on that.

But it isn't just the Republicans who are destroying the economy with debt, regulation and wasteful spending.

Well, there are areas that can be agreed upon, such as a balanced budget amendment, eliminating earmarks, stop getting intangled in foriegn affairs, and reforming tax code so it is clear and simplified.

In the meantime, eliminating loopholes for mega millionaires might be the first step towards some kind of compromise.

I have no problem really, with the "fiscal cliff" sequestration just ahead, because:

    1. Bernanke does not like it, and what Bernanke does not like, means what Bilderbergers do not like. And whatever Bilderbergers do not like, I figure is good for me.

    2. Cuts across the board, everyone including, both military and entitlement spending, and tax rate returns to Clinton era for those netting profit higher than 250K/year. What is wrong with that? It is about the only way possible, to even have any chance at all,of starting to pay down that 16 Trillion National debt.

There is a whole cross-section of inbred, bible-thumping, Constitution-hating traitors who are seriously talking about carving up the nation that I fought, and bled for like a gods damned Christmas fucking Turkey, all because "their guy didn't win"! As someone who fought, and bled for this great nation, I am very glad that none of the members of this forum appear to fall ito that category. I thank you, and appreciate you.
This country was founded on rebellion and secession...Are you saying the colonists who seceded from england in 1776 were "ignorant","childish", "hateful", "inbred", "bible thumping", "traitors"?
That's probably the way the british characterized them...but we call them "Patriots", don't we?

How about the americans that "seceded" (stole) texas from mexico at the alamo in 1836?...were they "ignorant","childish", "hateful", "inbred", "bible thumping", "traitors"?
To the mexicans they were traitors who ran and hid in a church...but according to american history they are brave heroes...

    ..or as rick perry said;

This is not a reaction to a person, but to a policy and what we see as a federal government that is so disconnected from its constituents and has no regard for what its purpose was"

The petitioners are merely stating their grievances and say that the common bond is irreparably broken and the divisions have become unbridgeable.
The fed. govt no longer represents us or our best interests and is becoming more and more tyrannical.
Allow us to separate peacefully so that we can handle our own affairs as we see fit.

Petitioning government for redress of grievances is a basic right of americans...

It's not far fetched at all to think that violence could erupt in parts of the country.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.
