No such thing as "alt left" experts say

    Is there really 'an alt-left'?

It's a "made-up term" used by people on the right to "suggest there is a similar movement on the left," Segal said.

But there's no equivalent with the anti-Semitic and bigoted groups that call themselves "alt-right", he said.

No such thing, as I have been saying.

What was it? 46% of IA Democrats identify as socialist? The alt tag is a new term for 'extreme' and there are millions of extremist leftists in this country.

You know you should always believe anonymous forum members instead of verified sources, what's wrong with you?
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”

I think it's been hashed before that words have meanings. There is a difference in a con calling someone "alt-left" and a con self identifying as "alt-right".

Yes because one is left and one is right, the alt tag is simply being appropriated to apply to leftist extremists, it just hasn't been a term in common parlance before today. A rose is a rose by any other name.

No, you fail to understand again. If I call you a redneck, it would completely different than if you called yourself a redneck.

The same applies to alt-left and alt-right. One calls themselves the name, the other is applied by the opposing ideology.

I don't find it odd or surprising that the left will not admit a fringe left wing element exists in America.

Yes, I understood. My farmer's tan snarls disapproval, but in the context in which somebody on the right used 'alt left' it means 'extremist leftists' and they do exist. To say that there 'is no such thing' just recognizes the term not being in common parlance.
