Obama Promises Swift Action On Immigration

Any odds on what "swift means"? The guy had four years to bring in some kind of reform. So, how is now it's an issue needing "swift" attention...

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama lifted the spirits of a room full of progressive leaders on Tuesday when he pledged to tackle immigration reform early in his second term, half a dozen sources either in the room or with knowledge of the conversation told The Huffington Post.
"He said that they want to move quickly on immigration reform," one attendee said.
The president has said before that immigration reform will be a major priority after his inauguration in January. But his vow behind closed doors signaled to at least one advocate in the room that he is "dead serious" about making a push for a bill as soon as possible. Past pledges have come up short. But for those gathered at the White House, the comments sparked renewed optimism.

I think slow and careful is what we need. Slowly block off the border and then carefully scan the country for any illegals and kick them the fuck back to Mexico until they learn how to become citizens of our great nation the proper way.

Amnesty is not "reform"..amnesty for illegals is a means of creating more non white democrat voters dependent on the govt.

Although I am not in favor of amnesty, I believe that Obama is going to ask for amnesty for all illegal aliens and he will probably get it. What I want to see is the Republicans getting something in return for this amnesty crap. Back in the 80s the Democrats promised President Reagan that they would work on the immigration issue in return for amnesty for illegal aliens. Regan believed them, signed the bill, and then congress never did a thing about illegal immigration.

If Obama grants amnesty for the 20-30 million illegal aliens already living here....I want there to be a bi-partisan set of rules for getting this amnesty. A path to citizenship with hard and fast rules. Plus no felons getting amnesty. Also, I want a constitutional amendment that specifically bars future so-called "anchor babies" from getting automatic citizenship if both of their parents are not citizens.

We already know amnesty doesn't work. Ronald R did that only to find out it was a mistake. He needs to deport the ones breaking the law and coming here illegal and tighten the borders. Too many American families near the border are put in danger. Especially, the Native Americans, farmers, and ranchers.
