"i am not going to budge"

Now there is a tried and true method if getting some negotiations going.

Yep, that's leadership, exemplified methodology......four years of arrogance followed by another four years of intransigence...

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama will enter high-stakes budget negotiations firmly committed to seeing the tax rates for high-income earners rise to pre-George W. Bush levels, he assured a gathering of progressive and labor leaders on Tuesday.
"I am not going to budge," he told the group, according to an attendee who relayed material from the meeting on condition of anonymity. "I said in 2010 that I'm going to do this once, and I meant it."
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment, but two other sources who attended the meeting confirmed the quote. The administration seems to have staked out a firmer position than during the first stand-off over the Bush-era tax cuts, in November and December of 2010, leaving the impression that it won't sign off on a compromise that doesn't increase the tax burden on the wealthy as a means of paying down the deficit.

A phrase of the past, "Read my lips, no new taxes!" must be a declaration of being very open on the subject.
Sorry--but I do not accept the idea that being intolerant of intolerance is THE SAME THING as being intolerant of anything else.

And the Dumbocrats are still not done blaming Bush.

That's hilarity beyond comprehension to the intelligent people of America, but the Dumbocrat sheeple don't see anything wrong with living in the past.

I don't normally see people saying much at all about 90's Bush.

Just because Obama doesn't want to budge on this issue means he's a stickler on everything?

EDIT: If he wasn't a stickler on at least a few things, he'd be a pushover.

Do Not Ask What Good We Do!

"If you act like you're the minority, you're going to stay in the minority," Draper quotes McCarthy as saying. "We've gotta challenge them on every single bill and challenge them on every single campaign."

"You will remember this day," Draper reports Newt Gingrich as saying on the way out. "You’ll remember this as the day the seeds of 2012 were sown."

    Enough said ...
Not all White People were sick evil people in the 1960's who became less evil over time; they were good people in a sick system that became gradually less sick over time. Getting checked about racism is not an assault on your virtue, it's a reminder of the roles you play often without ever seeing them, understanding them or caring about them. Racism is not about you and it never was, and it doesn't help the discussion to take it that way and ignore that it still exist today.

Being a stickler about important and necessary processes and procedures is an excellent trait in a President....but Barack Obama's arrogance is already legendary. I think he'll go down in history with that specific descriptor.
Well, I was born in the sign of water,
And it's there that I feel my best,
The albatross and the whales they are my brothers.

No, it's a statement on what happens when you make a deal with liberals. If the budget they wanted got passed they wouldn't pass more taxes. Gotcha, Sucker!

But, President Obama has always sought bipartisan compromise where you kiss his butt and he lets you. Nothing else will do for the King. Or is it Commisar? Whatever, the man doesn't understand the concept of working with others. He's never had to do that and doesn't intend to start now.

This is why there is no room for compromise.

To Democrats "compromise" means the GOP gives in on everything the Democrats want.

If any GOP congressperson gives in on taxation without substantial non-defense spending cuts, they better start organizing a primary campaign.
