This woman is supposed to be listened to, even have a thread dedicated to her because she says what the OP wants to hear, but someone like Rachel Dolezal is denigrated...but they were both presidents of their local chapter.

Well, they are statues of Democrats put up by Democrats. Of course, racism was involved. I propose states place the statues of political leaders in museums. Leave the statues and memorials of the military right where they are.

    Robert E. Lee was extraordinary.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.

Again, I don't know but it (in my mind) makes a difference. I abhor racism but I also abhor political correctness (not to the same degree) (not personal manners or decency, mind you -- just the PC movement). I'm reading on it.
26 years after the war means 7 year olds on farms pillaged by marauding soldiers are now in their 30s. 18 year old vets are now mellowing in their early 50s. Because there obviously were still many hard feelings left over from the war. I can see a differenxe now between France and Germany from the 1980s to today. Also, the memorials could be relatively expensive.

In the North the GAR was THE original veterans group. It actually didn't morph into the VFW or anything like that. It actually disbanded. Politically very, very powerful in its heyday. But 19th century was not a time of wealth. So, in my town the GAR collected money, penny by penny, quarter by quarter for GAR members and the public for over 9 years (sorry I thought it was longer before) before they had the money for the memorial. The South was materially worse off financially I might add.

    Hackettstown, NJ, not far off.

30 years post. They knocked it down to let Rt 46 go through. I took a picture of the replica statue, which I also donated $10 to, which was placed not so long ago.....a generic 'Billy Yank' statue

I have no doubt that you truly believe this but you should read more.
Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

Yeah, I think that's his point. History is well history and cannot be changed but does not hold sway on this issue now.
