Good Lord, what kind of $#@!ty security do these people have? The perp isn't even handcuffed as he was led away. Pathetic.....

Edit: Posted before watching the video. At least they did give him a little bit of a beat down.

For a small carry conceal I would use a revolver. No misfire with that.

    Video at the bottom.
I watched the video and the who were in attendance at the debate were not about to allow the perpetrator to leave with "voicing" their opposition to his actions. Kudos to the men who beat the stuffing out of the assailant.
It is moments like these that make me proud.

Are you serious? The "security" was pathetic. Nobody had a pair of cuffs? Gimme a break.

You missed the point of my post. The point is that the fifty-eight year old man who was the intended victim fought back. Also, others came to his rescue and started stopping, punching and generally beating him. Who cares what the security was doing as long as you have people fighting back aggression, it is a good thing. This is what I am focused on, not lax security.

Some of the people doing the beating were likely the same ones in charge of organizing security. Do they get a pass for their incompetence because they beat the perp?

    Thought Dogan was great .
Such is the crazy world we live in , you can't but help wonder whether it was all that we are invited to believe in .
A Conspiracy attempted assassination might have been identical . Might .

That's crazy - can't imagine having a gun pointed at me, thinking I'm going to die, and then having it misfire.

Security isn't always perfect. 24 Sussex Drive was broken into when I was a kid, by an intruder who had schizophrenia and a knife. Aline Chretien (wife of PM Jean) called the RCMP and told them the Prime Minister's residence had been broken into, while taking shelter in the bedroom. It took something like 10 minutes for the RCMP officers from outside to come to the scene, partially I think due to not having keys to the residence. A couple years later, a drunk was found wandering the property of 24 Sussex Drive.

Not every country has an equivalent to the secret service; many countries probably think they don't need security quite that comprehensive.

I'm pretty sure rent-a-cops could have provided better security, let alone Secret Service protection.
