WHo eats fast food and which ones

Yes, I had Crystal burgers a couple of times when I was stationed in Tennessee, and they are virtually indistinguishable from White Castles.

I can't recall where I saw this the other day - probably on YouTube - but a guy walked into a fast food burger joint - possibly Burger King - and when they gave him his hamburger, he very politely asked to see the Manager, and then very politely asked that they make him a burger that looked like the one in the advertisement. And the Manager did it. The little guy at the register was cracking up - he'd never seen this done before. It was pretty funny.

Right. Before they squash it and wrap it tightly.

I drive long distances a lot. MacDoogles (as well as most of the fast food chains) is always good for a semi-clean rest room and cup of coffee. I like sub and deli sandwiches. (NOT Subways) In a pinch, I may order a fish sandwich or just fries. No chicken or Mex-Tex. I do like beef jerky's when I travel.

I do McD's, Steak 'n Shake, Domino's, Taco Bell[.]

It is not really fast food--actually, it is more like casual dining--but O'Charley's food is especially good, I think.

I particularly love its Nashville Hot Chicken, on a bun. (The chicken is actually larger than the bun; so they certainly do not cheat anyone.)

I'm always paranoid that if I make a special request or stink about how to make it "look like the advertisement" they might adulterate my order in some way. I have noticed that eat in the restaurant food is made better that the exact item I might order in the drive-thru.

Steak & Shake!!!



Oh, how I miss that place! I've never really thought of S&S as "fast food" - probably because I have never eaten there on a take-out or drive-through basis. I remember they always had really nice dining rooms and good service. And the food - especially the fries! They opened a little store-front Steak & Shake down in Tempe, the local college town, a few years ago, with a very limited menu, but I had to take the wife - who grew up in Arizona - down there to let her sample a burger and fries.

We have one Steak & Shake in town; and I have never eaten there.

But Steak & Shake chili--which is canned, and carried by our local Kroger supermarket--is the best chili I have ever tasted!

I always keep some on hand.

Another place I really miss is White Castle - which I understand is one of those "love it or hate it" situations. I've always been a "love it" person, when it comes to the Castle. Twelve hamburgers, minimum. Back when I used to fly home to Indiana occasionally, my sister would pick me up at the airport and we'd go straight to White Castle.

There is also just one White Castle in the town where I reside.

But there are many Krystals here--one just about a mile from where I live--and they are a knockoff of White Castle (the same little square burgers: "burger bombs," as some have termed them).

Krystal is out of Chattanooga, Tennessee (about 100 miles southeast of where I live). I cannot say just how far it has spread, nationwide.

I wasn't aware that Krystal's and White Castle's territories overlapped at all, but I guess it they did it stands to reason that it would be in the Mid-South.

To know Wawa is to love Wawa. Not your typical gas station food.

I never understood the obsession some have with Steak and Shake fries. I never found them to be that good.

Not seen the checker fries, but they have frozen white castles, having never had a white castle, I bet the frozen is but a poor imitation.

The originals suck anyway, so it would be hard to screw one up. I ate at a White Castle ONCE and swore I would never do so again.
