    Possible Military Coup in China?

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...ing-436080940/

U.S. intelligence agencies monitoring China’s Internet say that from March 14 to Wednesday bloggers circulated alarming reports of tanks entering Beijing and shots being fired in the city as part of what is said to have been a high-level political battle among party leaders - and even a possible military coup.
The Internet discussions included photos posted online of tanks and other military vehicles moving around Beijing.
The reports followed the ouster last week of senior Politburo member and Chongqing Party Secretary Bo Xilai, who was linked to corruption, but who is said to remain close to China’s increasingly nationalistic military.
Chinese microblogging sites Sina Weibo, QQ Weibo, and the bulletin board of the search engine Baidu all reported “abnormalities” in Beijing on the night of March 19.

Oh wow. A military coup could be a dangerous situation.

I read about Bo Xilai getting the boot, but hadn't seen anything like that. From news reports over the last year I've read about increasing numbers of civilians protesting. A military coup is not something I had thought about and could be very bad news.

I'm getting nothing on this alleged coup. But from the 15th of March there has been some increased activity on the net about some Chines official defecting to the US embassy and that he is tied to Xilai.

The Chinese do have up some video footage coming out of Mali where tanks have rolled into that capital.

According to the message that went viral on China’s Internet, a military force with unknown designation quickly occupied many important places in Zhongnanhai, the Chinese leadership compound in Beijing, and Beijing in the early morning of March 20, with the cooperation of Beijing armed police.
The troops entered Beijing to “get and protect Bo Xilai,” according to the message.

    Check that.....

Screen shot of a photo posted on Weibo by Li Delin, who is on the editorial board of Securities Market Weekly. Li reported army vehicles on Changan Street in Beijing.

Bo Xilai has been placed under house arrest by the agency responsible for the security of top Chinese Communist Party leaders, according to an overseas Chinese magazine thought to be affiliated with a former Party leader. Bo has also been put under the CCP’s disciplinary proceedings known as “shuanggui,” according to reports in the Hong Kong and Japanese media.....snip~
