Non-billable is for suckers!
I actually get throttled on hours.
I sold my business the March prior and coming off that I picked up a temp gig which I thought was going to be over last year. This single case, it is ONE case, not multiple, they have peaks and troughs. So when it blows up, they remove the reins and I'll curn out billables. When not, in a lull, they have a hard cap at 40. These two weeks.....32.....because they closed Friday.....the deal is straight hourly through 40 and they actually pay time and a half for hours over 40.....which I had never heard before in the context of law.

At one time in the insurance industry, defense lawyers had it made, however in more recent years billings are being extensively vetted and questioned.
In quoting my post, you affirm and agree that you have not been goaded, provoked, emotionally manipulated or otherwise coerced into responding.
