The Last Man On The Moon

With the recent demise of the first man on the Moon (Neil Armstrong), it might be wise to realize that the last man on the Moon (Eugene Cernan) is now 78 years old. He got his engineering degree in 1956. He is a national treasure and irreplaceable in the foreseeable future.

Is your "Project Failure" NASA or the Apollo missions ??
It's ok if you disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

The spin-off tech from the Apollo program was calculated to be a 26:1 ratio- but that was as far as the bean counters could count because the tech spread so far.

I also read somewhere it was a 7 dollars in the various tax revenue to every 1 tax dollar spend on the Apollo missions.

    The latter , obviously .
I would have preferred the NASA money go into basic education . Longer term you would have got a much higher investment return .
The argument for justifying NASA without any available comparison is as dumb as saying that wars always increase the speed of technological advance .
