Now having said I did not like spam, I have eaten and liked Kiszka which for most would be far worse, its Polish blood sausage, duck blood I believe

I'm very big on survival stuff. Aside from living above an aquifer, I've invested heavily in renewable energy. I have both a wind turbine and a banks of solar panels. I can easily go off and stay off the electrical grid. I store canned goods but they are all shrink wrapped and kept in a cool and dry place. I've eaten spam and other things that are 10 years old with no ill effect. Any lost taste can be compensated for with seasonings and spice.

And then some. I have one 100kw and two 10kw towers. Just that, without solar, I can power my operations off the grid. The generators, all the peripherals plus installation, cost....over $30,000. Now, you can do this for about half the price if you buy residential quality. I did research on the air speed here not only from records but actual testing for about a year. I own and operate my own "cold storage" building (cash only) which is both secure and requires steady power.

I love kiszka - we always just called it buckwheat sausage, but it was made with pig's blood and buckwheat. You have to fry it well. Some places stick liver in it, which spoils the flavor, IMO.
Spam is something I ate a couple of times as a child, but the texture is pretty gross and if you fry it, it just becomes very salty. You can get canned ham, which IMO is much better than Spam. It's a bit salty, but at least it's an actual piece of meat.

"Jerky" also has a very long shelf life. I make it myself. I have an old fashion smoker oven use. It's hooked up in my barn. Beef, pork, venison...even chicken.
