Had a pug named Taz. It suited him as his body was just like the cartoon character.

    Knocker?

    Nope, not taking the bait.

I had a friend who named her dog "Stick". I thought that was pretty good.

Friend of mine had a rescue animal that lost all 4 of its legs. Named him cigarette because every day he would take it out for a drag.

When I was living in Florida, in a rural area north of Jacksonville, there was a neighborhood cat that everyone called "The Beast". He was a huge, muscular gray tabby that must have weighed at least thirty pounds - very little of it fat. He would come to your front door and make a noise...I don't know how to describe it, but it definitely was not meowing. More of a prolonged, raspy growl. And what you did was let him inside and feed him. Other animals, dogs and cats alike, took one look at him and just avoided the situation; in fact, I once saw a couple of dogs start to make a run on him, and when they got closer and realized who it was they just veered off and went away. The Beast would let you pet him, and the entire top of his head underneath the fur was a mass of scar tissue from old battles. He didn't seem to want to live in a house - just to wander from one to the other receiving his tribute and checking things out.

Cat cat, used to call him kitty kitty but then he grew up! Another one named "tippy" has a white tip on the tail.

I've called my cat "tuxedo" before. He has that black top and white belly pattern. He doesn't come to his name though. He only comes when he wants something.

I had a big female tabby with kittens, she backed up a pit bull. I have 3 cats, two were inside during the storm, she was to feral, I have not seen her yet and fear she may be gone.

Theodore gets called "Theo" and Louis is called Louis (Loo-wee - French). Yeah... imaginative. Named after a US president and a Canadian prime minister. Both are ragdolls; Theo is white with brown points and blue eyes, while Louis is white with cream/fire stripes and pale green-ish grey eyes.
