When I met my old lady in 2010, I was 30 and she was 60, when she expressed interests in me, despite me being 30 at the time, I did not sweat the age difference, the that she loves me, was all I cared about. I will stand by her no matter what.

Why in God's name would you want a Long John Silver's, Jim? There was a thread about favorite vs. horrible fast food the other day, and I think I forgot to mention LJS. If you haven't eaten there in a while, let me remind you: the food there really, really sucks!

I love fried clams. When I was a kid - stop me if you've heard this story before...no, wait, you can't - the family would sometimes go to Howard Johnson's for lunch. (Jim, you probably remember when Howard Johnson's motels all had restaurants attached to them. I heard the other day that only two do now, and I think they're both in New England.) They had the best fried clams. Many years later, in the early '80s, I was stationed in a small town in Tennessee and there was a diner where it was all the fried clams you could eat every Wednesday night for six or seven bucks. I'd eat two big plates of them, and then they'd bring me a third plate and a big Styrofoam take-out container so I could share with my cats. (The waitresses liked me.)

So a few years ago I'm driving around craving fried clams and it hits me - Long John Silver's probably has them! So I stopped in at one, and rather than do the prudent thing, like buy a single serving to check them out, I bought, at some considerable expense, an entire bag of them. And they were disgusting. I truly do believe that they really only have one thing for sale at Long John Silver's, and they just cut it into different shapes, bread the s**t out of it, and give it different names.

I used to like their Fried Cod and it was quicker than cooking it myself. I respect your opinion so I'll quit wishing for one here. I do remember Howard Johnson with restaurants.

As a kid I remember eating in them in the Chicago area. They straddled the toll-road like an overpass. You can see one in the movie The Blues brothers. IIRC the last one closed some time ago.
