I have a different understanding. Lee did what he did because he was first a citizen of Virginia. He was faced with a terrible choice. He did not do what he thought was evil. He did what he knew to be right. He fought to protect his State from an out-of-control federal government.
I have read just a few books about Lee. He was a remarkable man.
Call your state legislators and insist they approve the Article V convention of States to propose amendments.
I pledge allegiance to the Constitution as written and understood by this nation's founders, and to the Republic it created, an indivisible union of sovereign States, with liberty and justice for all.
