There are arguments for both sides of this debate. I fall on the side that is opposed to the current EC for the reasons I stated centered around proportionality and the current system that puts more value on the vote of an individual from a smaller state. I understand your objections. I simply don't agree with them.

first, I feel compelled to state that Trump didn't throw any of his rivals under the bus for the nomination. Second, he didn't run on PAC money thereby eliminating favoritism.
Trump kept making the statement to lock up Hillary. It looks like they (DOJ, Congress) may get the chance even after he dropped the issue. She was a known liar, so there wasn't any BS there. He ran a cleaner campaign than she did by a long shot.
And last, he ran, not as a politician but, as a businessman. Hillary is still running for office by using msm for drive by attacks on Trump. Between her and Schultz they have left the democratic party in shambles and destitute. The RNC, not so much.
So, Trump ran a cleaner race than Hillary by several miles
