You've got to be kidding me.

    I'll give you a list:

As a gay man, I have seen more advances for people like me under Democratic adminstrations. I can now get married, serve in the Armed forces, and quite frankly be taken more seriously as a human being who has a lot to offer. Obama gave me that.

In short, I feel like a full member of society, with equal marriage rights, etc. The GOP did everything they could to prevent that from happening. And they still are trying. That makes no sense to me.

Now the flip side, the GOP has always said that if you work hard in this country, you'll succeed. I agree 100%. But they do nothing to insure equal opportunity. That's the problem. Hard work does not guarantee anything. Equal opportunity is what is needed.

Let me make one thing very clear, equal outcome is not the goal, and never has been. Equal opportunity is.

This country offers people so much, what people do with that opportunity is what matters. But we have to make sure that opportunity is available to all.

For me, we're getting closer. When I was a teen, gay people literally had no voice. It could end your career in a heartbeat if people knew you were gay back in the 80s. In some places it still can.

Democrats stood up for us back then, not the GOP. They hated us. The GOP still hates us.

    So perianne, there's your answer.

Democrats literally gave me more equal opportunity. They still do.

I would not be where I am right now, which is a very successful person in advertising, without the efforts of the Democratic party and people like them.

As far as character traits for children, here's my advice: There will be people you don't understand who pose no threat to you. You may not like them, but you'll be told they're evil. Don't listen. Meet those who you are told to despise and realize they're just like you.

When the GOP finally gets here, we might have something to discuss. I hope it happens. Until then, no way.

You're too hell bent on keeping people out, rather than including them.

    Christian is as Christian does.

Not to mention, your blatant, thread derailing
Actually, the Democratic Party is full to the brim with Christians. They consistently poll pretty even with Republicans with every Christian denomination except Mormons (80% Rep), Evangelicals (70% Rep), and historically black denominations (80% Dem).

Personally, I see zero reason to be a Democrat. Ditto to be a Republican.

If post #21 does not do it for you, not sure what to say. I had to live through this crap. Yeah, no party is different from the other.

I see many reasons for both. Take your side.

A small majority of Catholics are Democrats.

Obvious low intelligence, rudeness, slovenliness in work and appearance, greed, selfishness, a strong desire to get something for nothing... The more of these and similar traits a youth has, the more likely he is to end up a Democrat.

I find your avatar offensive. I find you offensive. Based on my assessment of the traits necessary to be a good Democrat, you are about as good a Democrat as it is possible to be.

Or you could have read my post. I crawled out of my car, after being rejected by my family and made quite a bit out of myself.

I know, how horrible for you that a poor kid would make something of himself and still be a liberal!

My god! I should be a conservative, right?

I got news for you, some of us remember how hard it was to be poor.

And a lot of us would like to help others out of that poverty too. But you, nah- you'd like to see them stay there, am I right or not?

Because then, they'd be just like you...and you would have an excuse to be as pathetical you are now...
