Should those who have abortions be banned from reproducing?

I think that some form of population control should exist in cases of those who have shown themselves unable or unwilling to support children they create; allowing people living perpetually on welfare with no will or means to support reproduction to continue to be a "baby factory" while being subsidized should be illegal...

...and I speculate the reason it exists is simply a modern incarnation of slavery, and the state and corporations wanting a "steady influx" of new population to serve as future workers.

I'd say for starters, anyone who's had an abortion (other than as a medical necessity) should be banned from reproducing (not sure I'd favor sterilization, but if they produce offspring again they should be arrested and lose custody of their children); though ideally all forms of purely elective abortion should be banned to begin with.

Most likely the solution to prevent people who have no means of supporting children from creating more babies would something akin to a 1-child policy for people who haven't paid taxes within X number of years.

Even though population control is a touchy subject, I think that some type of legislation would have to be enacted as a means of banning abortion as a form of "birth control".

Well, this thread should go well! While I agree that welfare queens should not be encouraged by a monetary incentive, such a thing is most un-American but rather sounds like China.

True, my concern is that while ending elective abortion would be good, there would have to be something done to replace abortion being used as "birth control for those too lazy to use birth control", and avoid said "welfare queens" from being perpetually subsidized:

Basically, I see the welfare system as it currently exists as just a means of creating a modern "slave class" - it's designed to keep people perpetually "on the system", because elites know that if people are dependent on them and their welfare for life, then they'll always be able to keep them in their voting base.

If they actually became financially independent, they might decide not to vote for the welfare state, so there's no incentive to helping them 'get back on their feet' - welfare is being hocked as a substitute for working, rather than as an aid to get back on one's feet.

They need Democrat voters! She makes a strong case for state mandated sterilization.

Promising idea, but still in its infancy.

Needs to be cleaned out a little more before I weigh in further.

If your asking if women should be sterilized ? uhh no, there is no other way to ban getting pregnant.

There is no happy ending to this issue, the left will always cater to femnists will always blame men for getting irresponsible women pregnant, thats never going to change even though, all a woman has to do is say NO go get a condom, or use one of a variety of preventive means. If she says no the alternative is rape for men. Men will never be the responsible ones when it comes to sex and getting pregnant and they never have.

Having said that if you have men that dont give a $#@! and you have women that wont use contraceptives or say NO then were going to continue to pay unwanted pregnancies and either abortions or pay to raise their unwanted kids for many years.

You guys have completely overlooked the fact that it takes 2 to make a baby. You planning on applying this nonsense to the men who get these women pregnant?

I don't think it would ever pass muster; that would be the same thing as requiring certain men to have their testicles removed so they could not get women pregnant; I'm sure it would violate the constitution in some form. I don't know any man who'd willingly have that done, tho' stranger things have occurred.

That would be an ideal step as well. Good point. It does take two.

Last thing we need are people who recklessly breed without forethought to consequence.

You don't have to look of anything. Vasectomy isn't that brutal. Hell, it's reversible in most cases.
