My grandfather had a handug sub cellar and always had 40 1/4 barrels of wine either fermenting or ready to go. I only remember seeing it once. Hes been gone a long long time.

Exactly and you can give it away, once you sell it then its a crime. I dont ever remember a homeowner being a arrested for home made wine

Just went and looked, NY has no state min or max amount for home made wine.
New Jersey has a 200 gallon limit and by law you need a permit. Id bet not many get permits.
