1889 Wyoming First State Constitution to Grant Women the Vote

"On this day in 1889, the Wyoming state convention approves a constitution that includes a provision granting women the right to vote. Formally admitted into the union the following year, Wyoming thus became the first state in the history of the nation to allow its female citizens to vote."

I did not know that. It was August 1920 before the Federal right was bestowed. 31 years later.
It's ok if you disagree with me. I can't force you to be right.

Coming up to the 100-year mark.

Yay for us, I guess. Even though I understand that history and culture have to evolve, it is still disappointing how long it took in most places we think of as "advanced" to allow women the vote.

I was surprised to learn of Liechtenstein in 1984. I was not surprised to learn of Saudi Arabia allowed women the vote Dec. 2015 and just municipal elections.
