Zoos are the prisons in the animal world! I love places like the San Diego Wild animal park where the animals roam acres and live as though still in the wild. http://www.sdzsafaripark.org/
Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I digress....

I kinda feel that way too. It breaks my heart to see them behind glass or cages. I know some have been breed in captivity and may not survive in the wild but I just feel there has to be a better.

I have a difficult time going into a pet store to pick up cat food because of the animals in cages. I end up just paying higher prices at the grocery stores so I can avoid seeing those poor animals.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of zoos. I do understand they give children an appreciation for wildlife and conservation, but the animals pay the price. Smaller mammals, reptiles, insects and birds are acceptable if done right. Larger mammals that would naturally have large ranges just can't be kept in an environment that facilitates viewing. Primates certainly shouldn't be kept in captivity and predators are only a shadow of their natural selves.

Watch wild animals in documentaries instead.
