I wish I had a way to record a call of me screwing with them and post it up! Maybe I put them on speaker phone and video it, I don't even know if my computer takes video, have to check it out.

Scam.

I get them calling me sometimes claiming to be from microsoft. They tell me there's an issue with my computer ( I have a Mac). I like to screw with them for a while until I finally ask them how many people fall for this $#@!.

I do too. I say "No you are not John (or whatever they say their name is) you are a $#@!in east Indian and you are disturbing me as I am screwing your mother."

Yeah, your right, I will pass the phone# on to a scam report line. All the good it will do, I bet they change #'s constantly.

resister - you blew by a bunch of road blocks on this one, getting pop-up or whatever messages on your laptop should have been the first warning that something was badong. That happens with malware, which you probably have on your computer.

And calling them was a mistake. Google the phone number first. I never... NEVER call or return a call or even answer the phone if it's a number I don't recognize or if it shows up as unlisted. NEVER!!!!!

Googling the number is a slam-dunk way to find out if it's a scam.

You may have to dig around a little but you'll find message boards or consumer pages with messages where people did the exact same thing you did, talked to "John" from the middle east-kabumscrew and all that.

Yeah, download MalwareBytes, it's a free download and you'll get a couple of free scans and removals before you are asked to pay for the license, then just remove it from your computer and reinstall it later on if it happens again.
