    Blade Runner 2049

Saw the film yesterday and thought it was epic. The press is currently making a big deal of the fact that it didn't do as well financially the first weekend as expected, but I'm sure that will work itself out in the long run. Some folks are doubtless put off by the nearly 3 hour running time, but it's the kind of movie that the legion of Blade Runner fans are going to be paying to see multiple times; I don't think the producers are going to lose money on this one. This is one time the critics are right - this movie is great. Ryan Gosling at his very best. Harrison Ford's role was smaller - and came much later in the film - than expected, but seeing Rick Deckard again was worth the wait. I didn't really understand much about anything Jared Leto's character said or did, but I guess that's what the Internet is for.

I didn't think the first one was very good. Don't feel compelled to see this one.

I saw this film recently and loved it. I had my doubts after the first masterpiece, but man, did they ever get it right.

According to Box Office Mojo, the film has grossed $223 million worldwide. With a production budget of $150 million, I think we can safely assume they're in the money. I'm glad, too, because I don't want studios to be dissuaded from making epic films.

    I am a geek/nerd I admit it. I watched BR 2049.

Hope someone continues the story line. Maybe a character can try to off Niander Wallace?

There have been three books published as sequels to the first movie. The first one was good - I can't speak to the others.

Three novels intended to serve as sequels to both the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and the movie of Blade Runner have been published: Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human (1995), Blade Runner 3: Replicant Night (1996), Blade Runner 4: Eye and Talon (2000).

The official and authorized novels were written by Philip K. Dick's friend, K.W. Jeter. They continue the story of Rick Deckard and attempt to resolve many of the differences between the novel and the film...
