I grow more and more amazed at the arguments of gun control advocates.

The second amendment, which expressly and clearly endorses a right to keep and bear arms, does not actually protect a right to keep and bear arms, they tell us.

But abortions, which are not referenced ANYWHERE in the bill of rights, are a sacred and constitutional right of a woman. In fact, it's so sacred, that taxpayers must subsidize access to abortion services.

I think it can be accounted for as a difference in values. Basically, classical liberals value liberty higher than modern liberals who value security higher. But the abortion argument seems to contradict everything liberal.

Even a cave man can figure this one out. If the sale of firearms can be restricted then the acquisition of firearms is also restricted. How can you have a right to a firearm if its illegal to sell them?

People love to be strict absolutists on the 2nd. They love to quote the second and specifically "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

I don't see anything in there about selling. Keep, yes. Bear, yes. Sell, no.

If you have the Right to own, how are you supposed to get them? Issued from the government? Then it takes the Right and converts it to a privilege bestowed upon a few select. That is a direct affect of government controlling the people.

When I first started my business many years ago I had a man working for me who although good at his job generally had a complete disconnect with anything approaching normal thought processes. You could never hold an intelligent conversation with him because his responses were always off on a tangent. I'm sure they made sense to him but to everyone else he was just a loon.

He ended up leaving me and going to work for a company in Palm Coast Florida but was fired a few months later for digging up the grounds around the facility. He was convinced there was gold buried by 18th Century pirates at that exact location.
