    Incompitance

Why do hospitals not seem to be able to manage to not lose (or steal) patient property? First her cell phone comes up missing and no one knows a damn thing. They tried to blame it on the previous facility she was transferred from.

I said "no, I personally bought it here myself, 2 days ago" They know nothing.

When she was discharged, she comes home missing her ID and medicare, medicade and insurance cards, again no one knows a damn thing.

Is there no recourse? They just lose $#@! and have no accountability?

My advice? If you have to send someone off to the hospital, send them with nothing but the clothes they are wearing.

Often the patient leaves a device or wallet on the bed. When the bedding is changed, the personal items are lost.

They really should pay attention, I bet if a phone comes up in the laundry, they toss it out.

When a bed is soiled with urine, feces, vomit, or other nasty things, staff typically does not separate the individual layers of bedding.

Most hospitals nowadays use outside services for laundry.

You're right , take everything they don't need home. Stuff gets thrown out in the linens, misplaced and somrtimes taken. And not always by staff, remember there are other patients and visitors
