That's well below what many other OECD members collected. Luxembourg took the top spot, with $42,655 collected per person. Norway came in second, collecting $30,140.

Do you see the shift there? Trump is saying we pay the most taxes. This author shifts to taxes per person.

Calculate it out. In the US we pay a total of $477,994,140,000, an order of magnitude more than Luxembourg which pays in total $24,866,670,660.
